The Booker Prize 2026

Lauren Williams

The Booker Prize 2026 longlist has now been announced – a selection of 13 superb works of long-form fiction, chosen from 163 titles written in English and published in the UK and/or Ireland between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026.

As Mary Beard, Chair of this year’s judges, says: ‘Great books have never been written to a single formula. We are confident that our longlist of books has something for everyone'. With two previous winners, three independent publishers/imprints and a previous Booker Prize judge on the list, it is fair to say that the booksellers at Harry Hartog are VERY excited about this longlist.

Below you will find the longlist titles. As always some have not yet been published, but if you place a pre-order we will get them to you the moment they are. So, it is now time to get reading and start speculating on the shortlist, and of course the winner of The Booker Prize 2026!
