Susan Sontag's groundbreaking first collection of essays. This work established Sontag as one of the most important cultural critics of her generation. It had an important role in bright European traditions (particularly French intellectual theory) to America. Sontag's focus on popular culture as an entity worthy of serious critical analysis marked her apart from her contemporaries and spawned a new area of enquiry.
Overall condition: excellent. Dust jacket unclipped, some rubbing and minor markings along edges. Bindings tight, small bump to lower rear board. Some foxing along edges of internals, otherwise clean and bright.
