In Allied Secret, Carlton Jackson recounts the single greatest loss of American lives at sea during World War II: the sinking of the British troopship HMT Rohna on 26 November 1943 by a German guided bomb. Over one thousand American soldiers died in the disaster which was kept secret during the war for security reasons and then largely forgotten. In this book, Jackson brings the tragedy to light. In a new preface, he notes that a Rohna association was formed after his book first appeared and tells of the numerous letters he has received from survivors, victims' families, and others who knew little about the event until Allied Secret was published.
