Original bright blue publisher's cloth in original price-clipped dust jacket. Spine lettered and ruled in gilt. Cover lettered and ruled in gilt with decorative pattern stamped below title. Textblock top edge sprayed in dark blue and foredge rough cut. Includes newspaper clipping disputing claims in book and an original pamphlet for a letter writing contest held by G. P. Putnam's sons. Near fine in very good dust jacket. Dust jacket price-clipped with some wearing and chipping along edges and at extremities. Some previous tape repairs made to stabilise tears in dust jacket. Front endpapers cracking at gutter. Some minor spotting along edge here and there. Otherwise, contents in generally bright and in excellent condition.
