Cobb's first and only novel. An important work of anti-war literature. Highly collectible due to its connection with Stanley Kubrick's celebrated film adaptation.

First edition. New York: The Viking Press, 1935. 8vo. Original blue-and-red publisher's cloth hardcover in original unclipped dust jacket. Pages: [vi], 265.

Very good in like dust jacket. Dust jacket unclipped, some rubbing and weathering along edges and creases, spine somewhat shelf faded and browned. Hardcover bindings in excellent condition, square and tight. Cover boards mildly faded, with some age toning along edges and some loss to gilt on spine. Mild discolouration in spine creases. Contents near fine, very minor age toning along edges. Otherwise, contents clean and bright.
