Harry Hartog's review
No-one does small town romance like Lucy Score does small town romance. She will not only have you falling in love with every male lead, but a whole host of background characters, crotchety old townies, a dog or two, and even a town mascot bald eagle called Goose. You will fall for the town itself, you'll have a favourite store, know when and where the town meetings take place, and when you close its pages you'll feel homesick for the life she has created within. I love all her books, but this one has a special place in my heart. Be prepared to fall head first into this book and love the town of Story Lake and all its characters yourself. - Alecia, Harry Hartog Narellan
Description
This small town has got a big heart. And it's about to steal hers.
Hazel Hart was a successful romance novelist until a break-up drove her straight into writer's block. Having failed (and failed some more) to deliver her new manuscript, her publisher finally lays down the law: if she misses her next deadline, it's The End.
Desperate for inspiration, Hazel flees NYC and instead lands in the tiny town of Story Lake, Pennsylvania, enticed by look of a charming new home and convinced that a change of scene is all she needs. That is until she discovers on arrival that 'charm' may have been slightly exaggerated: the house is a wreck, and suddenly the book is the least of her problems.
Enter: Campbell Bishop. Six-feet-three inches of grouchy contractor, who might just be the answer to all her troubles - in life, and in writing. Before Hazel knows it, she's writing a romance novel and living one: fake-dating her contractor is giving this burnt-out writer all the inspiration she needs.
That is until the drywall dust settles, reality hits, and growly Cam suddenly remembers why - away from their make-believe - he's not actually the one who can provide her happily ever after . . .
