Strong is the New Pretty

The Australian Rules Football League (AFL) created a national women’s league—AFLW—that burst onto the field in 2017 after generations of work, grit, passion and fancy footwork behind the scenes from some determined and amazing women.

In Strong is the New Pretty, Olivier-award-winning playwrightSuzie Miller writes a love letter to Australian women and those that love them, inspired by the incredible story of how women dreamt up a league that went from a pipe dream to a sports sensation the world could no longer ignore.

This is theatre written in mud, sweat, and belief. It’s not just about a sport. It’s about a revolution.
