Temptation and Surrender

Restless and disaffected, Jonas Tallent, Lucifer Cynster's brother-in-law, happily leaves the ballrooms of London and returns to Devon to manage his family's estate. His most pressing concern is to find a new innkeeper, a task that proves difficult - until Emily Beauregard applies for the position. A lady innkeeper is not what Jonas had in mind, especially not one who invokes his protective streak. But Em is desperate to remain in Colyton village with her siblings. She refuses to take no for an answer, jockeys Jonas into hiring her, then sets about making the inn the centre of village life. But Em has her own agenda; she's in Colyton to hunt for her family's treasure, guided by a cryptic rhyme. Orphaned, near penniless, the treasure is her and her siblings' future, but solving the rhyme is no easy task. Only once she accepts Jonas as her lover and enlists his aid do they start to unravel the clues. But someone else also has the Colyton treasure in their sights, and the closer Em draws to her family's legacy the greater the danger - to her, her family, and the treasure she's discovered in Jonas's arms.
