I waited about 4 years for this one so it had a lot to live up to. If the time spent waiting for the new book wasn't bad enough, it was made harder due to sheer brilliance of The Mask Falling - easily my favourite of the Bone Season books so far (that cliffhanger nearly broke me). I wasn't sure how anything would be able to top that one. I was a bit hesitant too knowing there were changes made to the series. I didn't want to have to read the rewrite of the series (I loved the series already, to me it didn't need to be fixed in any way) but fortunately Shannon put up a short 'what I changed' on her website. So all I could do was wait and enjoy the fact that the new editions were bringing more readers to the series. And do you know what? The wait was worth it. I loved Dark Mirror *nearly* as much as Mask Falling. It's a sensational continuation of a series that I've loved for over 10 years. An absolute emotional rollercoaster, there’s no filler in this book, it’s pure adventure and adrenaline and I loved every minute of it.
