A binding of three articles: The Glacier Theory by James D. Forbes & Edmund C. Batten; a review of Travels Through the Alps of Savoy by James D. Forbes; and, a review of The History of Etruria by Mrs. Hamilton Gray.
Bound in beautiful later 19th century green calf. Cover borders ruled in gilt and decorative stamped in blind. Spine lettering stamped in gilt. Ochre-coloured endpapers. Each article tipped onto blank pages. Notes pencilled onto first page describing each article briefly. Very good. Bindings slightly rubbed with some markings here and there. Otherwise, tight, sturdy, and attractive. Contents in excellent condition. Some minor foxing here and there. Overall, a well-preserved, unique volume. Likely a seldom copy.
Provenance: From the collection of Warwick H. Williams.
