Rare first illustrated edition of Oscar Wilde's classic works. Scarce to find with dust jacket. Colour illustrations by Charles Robinson.
Overall condition: very good. Dust jacket separated along front spine crease. Some chipping on lower spine and crease edges. Age toning along edges and creases. Hardcover boards show minor signs of aging on edges and extremities. Spine faded. Gilt impressions on cover in very good condition. End papers and text block in very good condition. Age toning and some foxing on end papers. Pages and illustration plates show very minor foxing.
This edition is illustrated by Charles Robinson. Illustrated plates interleaved with protective tissue paper. Dust jacket has been wrapped in a mylar sleeve to protect it from further damage. Some newspaper clippings marked "D.T. 1937" included with edition. All are related to Oscar Wilde and seem to have been cut from a newspaper correspondence section. Majority of the clippings show evidence of having been clipped from "The Daily Telegraph" (British edition).
First illustrated edition. London: Duckworth & Co., (1913). 4to. Original cloth hardcover with gilding on cover in original unclipped dust jacket. Pages: 135, frontispiece, 7 illustrated plates.
