Contains three handwritten letters from author to a M. Sing. Two dated 1914 and one 1915. Also comes with a custom suede wrapper with hand-drawn illustration on cover.

Full title: The High Alps of New Zealand: or, a Trip to the Glaciers of the Antipodes with an Ascent of Mount Cook.

Green's attempt to summit Mount Cook marked the beginning of high Alpine climbing in New Zealand. Green and his guides turned back just shy of the summit. In this account, he writes: "Mount Cook was now practically conquered.

Bound in original red publisher's cloth. Spine lettered in gilt. Cover margins ruled in black.

Provenance: From the library of Warwick H. Williams.

Overall condition: good. Spine faded with wear at multiple points, particularly head and foot. Covers marked and rubbed. Hinge cracked at front, but stabilised with cloth tape to front endpaper gutter. Contents complete and in excellent condition. Some spotting throughout. Folding map in good order, seams have age markings but are free from tears. A unique example of a rare mountaineering classic with very interesting ephemera included.
