This folio reproduction presents a stunning ode to the work argued to be the most magnificent book ever produced by the Kelmscott Press. Chaucer's complete works is also regarded as one of the greatest books ever to be published.

The centerpiece of this work is, of course, The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer's most famous work. It also contains his other major works, such as Troilus and Criseyde. Each page of this work is a piece of art, in its own right. The integration of text, illustration, and decoration creates a harmonious whole that exemplifies the heights of fine publishing.

Housed in navy-blue buckram solander case with lettering to spine in gilt on leather panel. Volume bound in full cream goatskin leather. Cover profusely decorated in 22-carat gold, redrawn from the original by David Eccles. Six raised bands to spine, compartments decorated in gilt. Lettering to spine in gilt. Upper edge gilt, others uncut. Contents printed on Oxenford twin-wire laid paper. End papers are hand-laid Fabriano paper. Contains 87 woodcut illustrations by Sir Edward Bourne-Jones and engraved by W.H. Hooper, 26 initals designed by William Morris, 18 unique illustration frames.

Overall condition: Near fine. Some extremely mild rubbing to upper bindings. Otherwise, gilt bright, contents clean, bright, and fresh. A work of miraculous beauty and significance.
