Samuel Albert White (1870–1954) was a distinguished South Australian ornithologist and conservationist whose lifelong fieldwork included completing an ornithological survey of the whole of South Australia and much of the Northern Territory. He was a central figure in the establishment of national parks within South Australia, and his most significant scholarly achievement came through his close collaboration with Gregory Mathews on The Birds of Australia. This facsimile series reproduces two of the most significant works held within White's own working library.
