Rare first edition of Keneally's debut novel.

Thomas Keneally's debut novel. Reflects his own experience of entering a Roman Catholic seminary at age 17. An interesting example of Keneally's earlier writing style, which reads quite different from that of his later, better-known works. Quite rare with an excellent, albeit clipped, dust jacket.

Overall condition: excellent. Dust jacket price-clipped, some rubbing and wear to edges and fold-in creases. Bindings fine: square and tight. Contents foxed along upper edge. Otherwise, fresh and bright.

First edition. London: Cassell & Co. LTD., (1964). 8vo. Original black publisher's cloth in original price-clipped dust jacket. Pages: [iv], 220.
