The 1939 issue of the famous Wayfarer’s Journal. Importantly, the last to appear before the war, which destroyed or took the lives of many of the Journal’s contributors. Contains contributions from H. W. Tilman, J. M. Edwards, C. F. Kirkus, J. K. Cooke, and more. For some of the contributing climbers, this would be their last contributions.
First edition. No. 6. Liverpool: Wayfarer’s Club, 1939. 8vo. pp.130. Original pale green publisher’s softcover wrappers. Lettered and illustrated in black. Near fine. In exceptional condition. Contains glassine plate guards. A faint marking to front cover and some mild darkening to spine. A small amount of faint foxing to foredge. Otherwise, fine. Clear and bright. A beautifully preserved and important work.
Provenance: From the library of Warwick H. Williams.
