First edition in English. First published as La Femme Rompue in 1967.
London: Collins, 1969. 8vo. Original red publisher's cloth hardcover in original price-clipped dust jacket. Pages: 255.

A triptych of novellas by the author of The Second Sex, each an examination of a different facet of female vulnerability: aging, loneliness, rejection. The three stories are "The Age of Discretion," "The Monologue," and "The Woman Destroyed." The work consists of "three short novellas on the theme of women's vulnerability – in the first, to the process of ageing", exploring the complex experiences of mature women during unexpected life transitions.

Very good in like dust jacket. Dust jacket price-clipped, mild toning to  edges and some rubbing at spine edges and at corners. Hardcover boards have some rubbing, otherwise very good. Contents have mild age toning and a few dark watermarks on foredge. Previous owners signature inked on FFEP. Overall, contents clean and bright.
