The first full survey of Cressida Campbell’s woodblock paintings, in the signed second edition. With a foreword by Edmund Capon, an introduction by John McDonald and a catalogue of works by Brett Stone.

Cressida Campbell, born in Sydney in 1960, studied at East Sydney Technical College and later at the Yoshida Hanga Academy in Tokyo. She carves her image into a woodblock, paints the block, dampens it and pulls a single print, and repaints the block afterwards, so that each image yields both a print and a painted block. This monograph, edited by her husband Peter Crayford, was published by Public Pictures in October 2008 and is the first full survey of her work, covering interiors, still lifes, bush scenes, harbour views and gardens. The first printing of 2,000 copies sold out before Christmas 2008, and a second printing of 2,000 followed in March 2009 and also sold out. Janet McKenzie, reviewing it in Studio International, praised its production, printed at Tien Wah Press in Singapore. Campbell was the subject of a major survey at the National Gallery of Australia in 2022–23.
