First UK edition. We by Yevgeny Zamyatin is a dystopian classic comparable to Orwell's 1984 or Huxley's Brave New World. Given this was written earlier than those titles, it is argued that We played a role in influencing them, though Huxley has denied this. Notably, this was the first book to be banned by the USSR's censorship board in 1921. The manuscript was smuggled out of Soviet Russia and translated into English, becoming a literary classic.
