This book recalls the night in February, 1964 when Australia experienced its worst peace-time naval disaster. The death toll was 14 officers and 68 ratings in a collision between the Daring-class destroyer, HMAS Voyager and the aircraft carrier and Royal Australian Navy's flagship, HMAS Melbourne. The tragedy shocked the nation and led to two Royal Commissions which would end careers and have repercussions in the Navy right to the highest level of command. Unanswered questions remain to this day. Lieutenant Frame explains the public controversy and untangles the bureaucratic cover-up that involved politicians, judges and naval personnel.
